Week 5 at Country Life Kids Camp burst with creativity, curiosity, and hands‑on discovery as campers stepped boldly into our theme: Inspiring Engineers of Tomorrow. From LEGO masterpieces to shadow‑art experiments and splash‑filled cool‑downs, this week was a joyful blend of imagination, teamwork, and summertime adventure!

🧱❤️🐾 A Big Thank You to our Amazing Special Guests!

Campers explored how both animals and humans act as natural engineers. Our friends from the Medina County Parks: Oenslager Nature Center shared incredible examples of animal architects—creatures that build dams, weave nests, carve shelters, and craft armor straight from nature’s toolbox.

From there, campers became engineers themselves:

  • LEGO Challenges - designing animals, building bridges, and testing structural strength through trial and error.

  • Shadow Sundials - tracing sun and tower silhouettes to create bold, abstract masterpieces.

  • Nature Observations - understanding engineering involves observing existing phenomena. Campers participated in guided hikes to tag and record the work of nature's engineers!

  • Grid Drawing - transferring images square‑by‑square to build realistic, enlarged artwork.

  • Faith Brick Kit Building - utilizing LEGO brick kits to illustrate how daunting a box of bricks might seem, but fortunately, there are instructions similar to the Bible. By being grounded in faith and following God, He will accomplish GREAT things!

  • Big Task Planning - discovering how organizational planning and prioritizing can help you stay on task and reach your goals.

  • Young Engineers - engaging in a crash course of civil engineering LEGO challenges and games!

Even the summer heat couldn’t slow the creativity. Campers cooled off with water games, sprinkler finish lines, creek walks, and a steady stream of snow cones that turned hot afternoons into refreshing celebrations.

And the biggest surprise? Our brand‑new laser gun field—complete with fresh gear and an epic layout—had campers strategizing, sprinting, and celebrating like true adventure champions!

🏃‍♂️ Cooperative Games Fitness Track: Teamwork in Motion

This track was all about movement, laughter, and collaboration:

  • Gatorball — a high‑energy mashup of classic ball games.

  • Kickball — sharpening coordination and building team spirit.

  • Speedball — fast, exciting, and heart‑pumping fun.

  • LEGO Field Day Design — campers invented their own games, collaborated in teams, and brought their ideas to life.

This track blended athletic play with creative thinking—an awesome combo!

🎾 Instructional Sports Fitness Track: Pickleball Power!

Pickleball stole the spotlight as campers learned one of the fastest‑growing sports in the nation. They practiced:

  • Serving & Rallying

  • Smart Court Movement

  • Hand‑Eye Coordination

  • Agility, Balance & Endurance

Confidence soared with every game. Campers encouraged one another, celebrated great plays, and learned to strategize as a team. The courts were full of laughter, competition, and unforgettable moments!

💛 A Week of Character, Creativity & Cool‑Down Fun

Week 5 reminded us that engineering isn’t just about constructing structures—it’s about developing character, confidence, and lasting memories! That is a BIG deal at CLKC! We strive to be master builders in creating life-long memories for our campers! With imagination, teamwork, exploration, and plenty of cooling-off fun, campers truly embodied what it means to be tomorrow’s engineers.
