Week 4 at Country Life Kids Camp shimmered with pure enchantment as campers stepped into the CLKC School of Wizards, a whimsical world filled with wands, amulets, potions, and spellbinding adventures. From the moment the Sorting Hat greeted each camper, the magic took hold — whispering House secrets, sparking excitement, and setting the stage for a week overflowing with discovery, courage, creativity, and teamwork. Our young wizards embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and heart. A huge congratulations to Hufflepuff, who earned the title of House Cup Champions through kindness, teamwork, and spirited participation!

The wizarding world came alive through unforgettable special events. Campers soared across the Quidditch pitch in a thrilling match where strategy, speed, and teamwork ruled the skies. After a competitive series of games, Ravenclaw House claimed victory as our Quidditch Champions! The adventure continued deep within the Forbidden Forest during our Horcrux Hunt — a magical quest filled with clues, creatures, and surprises around every corner.

A Special Thank You!

Thanks to our dedicated CLKC staff and incredible volunteers who learned skits, gathered costumes, and created immersive scenes, campers experienced a forest full of mystery and wonder. Their time, talent, and treasure made this unforgettable challenge possible, and we are deeply grateful.

⚔️ Instructional Sports Track: Warrior Week

Our Instructional Sports – Warrior Week athletes focused on building strength, endurance, and perseverance. Coaches guided campers through agility drills, obstacle course challenges, and strength‑building activities designed to help them grow physically and mentally. The week culminated in the Warrior Challenge Event, where campers navigated obstacles, tackled physical tests, and conquered the Titan Rig with determination and pride.

🧹 Cooperative Games Track: Quidditch Adventures

The Cooperative Games Track embraced the spirit of Quidditch through teamwork‑based activities. Campers practiced speedball techniques, played small‑sided games to sharpen awareness, and learned the rules of wizarding Quidditch before competing in friendly matches. Inspired by legendary Seeker skills, campers explored different positions, encouraged one another, and discovered the joy of playing together.

🪄 Coaching Character: Respect & Self‑Control

In Coaching Character, campers explored two essential wizarding virtues:

  • Respect — Campers interviewed friends to learn about their beliefs, differences, and habits, discovering what makes each person unique.

  • Self‑Control — Through lessons on the Fruits of the Spirit, campers learned that while wizards may command magical objects, mastering oneself is the greatest challenge of all. They shared personal “tricks” for making good choices and staying focused.

These lessons helped campers strengthen friendships, build confidence, and grow as thoughtful young leaders.

🌿 Young Naturalist: Nature, Mimicry & Camouflage

Our Young Naturalists stepped into the magical side of nature. Campers played a live‑action camouflage hide‑and‑seek game, learning how animals use mimicry, deception, and clever adaptations to outwit predators — a real‑world reflection of magical illusion. This hands‑on exploration helped campers appreciate the creativity and intelligence found in the natural world. They also dove into a Bird Beak Buffett. This interactive challenge teaches campers how different bird species have evolved specialized beaks perfectly suited to their diets. Campers transformed everyday kitchen tools into “bird beaks,” each representing a unique adaptation:

  • Tweezers acted like thin insect‑eater beaks

  • Slotted spoons mimicked filter‑feeding birds

  • Tongs or pliers represented strong seed‑crackers

  • Chopsticks became precision pickers

🔬 Mystery Lab & Young Engineers: STEM Magic

In Mystery Lab and Young Engineers, campers discovered how science and engineering can feel just like magic. They experimented with:

  • Static electricity “levitation”

  • Dry ice boo bubbles

  • Magnetism and magnetic engineering

These STEM activities blended curiosity, creativity, and problem‑solving, showing campers how scientific principles can create truly magical moments.

🎨 Art & Design: Wand Whittling & Creative Expression

In Art & Design, campers experienced one of the most cherished traditions of the week — whittling their own wand. Choosing a core, shaping the wood, and crafting a wand with care became a meaningful ritual requiring patience, precision, and creativity. Campers also enjoyed learning tea party etiquette in Life Skills, practicing manners and social grace in a fun, hands‑on setting.

🎆 A Special Note to Our CLKC Families

As we wrap up this magical week, we want to share a warm message with our CLKC families. Camp will be closed next week in honor of the Fourth of July holiday, and we hope your family enjoys a safe, joyful, and memory‑filled celebration. Whether you’re traveling, gathering with loved ones, or simply enjoying the sunshine, we wish you rest, laughter, and time together.
