Project WILD is an interdisciplinary conservation and environmental educational program emphasizing wildlife. The goal of Project WILD is to assist campers of any age in developing awareness, knowledge, skills, and commitment to result in informed decisions, responsible behavior, and constructive actions concerning wildlife and the environment.
Country Life Kids Camp is a state recognized "Wild School Site."
Science, Engineering and Wildlife Education:
Discover the astonishing beauty of our park-like setting, in our action-packed, fun-filled outdoor adventures. We frolic in creeks, fish in ponds and gaze at panoramic views in our wildlife sanctuaries and labs. Be ready to hike, learn and explore along-side our educated staff certified in ODNR’s Project WILD Program. Outdoor habitats act as natural classrooms and land labs that are powerful vehicles to achieve educational goals, promote generational experiences and provide a sense of community that will last a lifetime. Learning in nature motivates our youth to build a sense of wonder. When this happens the learning then becomes more meaningful because campers can easily integrate new knowledge and skills into immediate action and make a difference.
Country Life Kids Camp is situated on 19 magnificent acres sprinkled with woods, fields, streams, vernal pools and ponds. Our educational programs engage campers with all kinds of interests! We strive to ignite a love for the contentedness with our environment and the importance of its protection on our daily lives.
We are a state recognized Wild Schools Site promoting awareness, exploration and protection of our natural world around us daily. Our summer camp is invested in creating and protecting homes for animals with our Blue Bird Habitat, Bat Conservation Habitat, Butterfly Garden and through our Passport to Fishing Program.
We empower our campers to live healthy lifestyles with knowledge and development of our Soil-Based Raised Organic Gardens, Greenhouse and Hydroponic Lab. In recent years, we have placed a large focus on the global initiative of hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Live Action Role Playing activities to enhance the imagination and innovation of our youth. This style of problem-based learning will prepare our youth to think critically, research diligently and lead exceptionally.
YOUNG NATURALISTS
GARDENING
Horticulture Education in our Greenhouse ~ Hydroponic Lab ~ Organic Soil-Based Gardens
Connect with nature - make a planter - plant vegetables.
At our camp, we teach the children how to plant their own garden and the benefits of composting. The children get to connect with nature outdoors and plant a vegetable garden.
We will be building bean teepees, planting their own herb container. We will also be learning about companion planting, designing a bed and soil preparation. We will be planting beans, carrots, peppers, tomatoes, and potatoes in raised beds.
HIKING
This is where our campers have an opportunity to hike and explore life in a stream and pond. They get to learn first hand knowledge about amphibians and nature.
Campers will learn basic survival skills such as compass reading, Oregon Trail, map reading, star tracking, animal tracking, basic first aid, shelter-building and much more.
Hydroponics in our Outdoor Lab
Robin, a junior at Walsh Jesuit High School, completed her Girl Scout - Gold Award at Country Life Kids Camp.
After completing her project, She donated the hydroponic system to allow us to continue instructing the children on another way to grow food. Hydroponics is the growing of plants in water and fertilizer, with all of the essential nutrients, but without soil.
AQUATIC EDUCATION
The Passport to Fishing Program is an introduction to a lifetime of recreation for children with little or no previous fishing experience.
Participants have FUN while learning some basic skills and needed techniques to begin fishing in their communities. The Passport Program includes strong stewardship messages as part of each learning activity.
Kids Concoctions:
Goop, Globs and Gunk: Our campers are all invited to create mysterious mixtures and make marvelous messes in this fun, hands-on discovery Kids Concoction and Contraptions program.
We will experiment with a different combination to create something fun! Campers will conduct gooey experiments, make concoctions, play brain games and react to gross substances.
Some are streeeetch, some transform, some bounce! If you like goop, putty, dough, slime, then this is for you.

We work to grow closer to God through prayer, healthy habits, acts of stewardship and kindness, and joyful musical expression.
We are committed to teaching the core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, forgiveness, integrity and caring while creating a nurturing environment that supports what your children are learning at home.
Academic Enrichment
We believe that having a creative license as a child is essential for future life success. We strive to give campers the skills and projects-- both big and small-- to express their creativity and sense of style. We provide all materials and teach new lessons in a positive and nurturing environment which brings out the best artistic and musical skills in each camper.
Live Action Role Playing activities add to enhancing the imagination and innovation of our young people, helping them to become life-long creative engineers. Recent examples of Live Action Role Playing activities include: life-size board games, escape room challenges, team camouflage missions, innovation labs and fantasy world games and experiences.
