This week at Country Life Kids Camp, campers experienced all things Jurassic! From digging in an excavation site, to hatching dinosaur eggs, a lot of fun was had!

During a mystery lab, campers learned about crystal formation and used water colors and epsom salt to create their own textured painting.

In the garden and hydroponics lab, plants are really taking off! Campers are helping care for

the plants and learn about the stages of plant growth. Lots of lettuce was harvested this week and donated to a food pantry. It is exciting to see the fruits of our labor - literally!

On the instructional sports side of camp, athletes participated in advanced basketball instruction! This week challenged their fundamental abilities, encouraging

them to reach higher levels of performance where court awareness, mental toughness, work

ethic, and attitude were crucial. They also participated in our custom agility training program,

which focused on lateral movement, quickness, balance, and core stabilization. The program

included dynamic drills designed to challenge and enhance players’ skills, improve their court

IQ, and develop them as well-rounded team players. Additionally, they learned essential team offensive and defensive strategies and concepts to support their success in multiple team tournaments throughout the week.

During our Art program, our campers created their own excavation kit and treasure box

to enjoy at home. Each design was unique and creative, many treasures were stored!

Our special event was an Operation Volcanic Panic mission, where campers studied, planned, and executed an evacuation plan for a small Jurassic island located in the South Pacific, a U.S. territory. They experienced atmospheric anomalies, such as volcanoes,

hurricanes, and earthquakes, while learning to solve critical problems and overcome challenges. They completed their mission of securing dinosaur cages across the property with laser tag markers, collecting dinosaur eggs from nesting sites, and avoiding large dinosaur scat along the paths.

Campers love a good Lego Challenge! This week, the goal was to bring those extinct creatures back to life by building life like dinosaurs. Many creative creatures were constructed!

Water Fun is always a popular activity! Campers enjoy cooling off during a hot day with a game of Wild, Wet, Crazy Kickball.

Campers used their sense of sight to discover color in nature by matching objects with paint samples. We learned that there are so many beautiful things to be seen and observed.

The dinos may be extinct, but the fun at camp lives on! Thanks for a great week, campers, we can't wait to see you again soon at Country Life Kids Camp!
