We had such a fun-filled week celebrating the classics of the decades! We traveled across the nation to explore significant achievements, notable figures, and cultural icons from the 1950s to today. Our final week of Summer Camp always features celebrations, extra special fun, and counselor vs. camper activities that excite all ages!

In our Young Naturalist program, we joyfully explored the Ohio Wildlife History Timeline, discovering how various pressures have shaped our ecosystem and affected wildlife populations over the decades. Campers spent time in nature building shelter and fishing with cane poles.

In our Coaching Character sessions, we had meaningful conversations about setting goals for the school year and reminisced about summer memories, like crafting cards for friends and mentors who made a difference. Campers were able to write their goals in the petals of a flower they created.

Campers have really enjoyed tending to the garden this year. In our final week, we took a minute to observe the growth of the plants that we helped plant nine weeks ago, harvested cucumbers and tomatoes, and even got to try these vegetables!

Teamwork makes the dream work! Campers works together during Cooperative Games to pass the hula hoop without letting go - it's more difficult than you might think!

Campers love dodgeball, so why not add shaving cream to the action! Later in the week, counselors got in on the fun for a friendly competition!

In the Instructional Sports track, our brave adventurers embarked on a week-long Survivor experience in the woods and trails. They set goals, adopted the right mindset both individually and as a tribe, and achieved incredible things by creating tribe cheers, building a home base, and tackling challenges that tested their art skills, mental toughness, physical strength, and teamwork—aiming to become the Ultimate Survivor! These campers truly outwitted, outlasted, and outplayed each challenge, inspired by the popular game show.  A special thank you goes to Natalie Bair for her dedication and hard work in completing her Gold Award at Country Life Kids Camp this week. Her creative activities and projects made the experience even more memorable!

A familiar face at camp was honored for his dedication during the end of summer celebration. It was announced on Friday that the Wildlife Pavilion will be named in honor of "Ranger Ted" Kellner. Ranger Ted was instrumental in creating the Young Naturalist Program that is still used at camp to teach about wildlife and survival skills. Thank you, Ranger Ted for you dedication to our mission at Country Life Kids Camp!
