Campers embarked on an exhilarating journey as we celebrated global holidays, delving into the vibrant history and beloved traditions of different countries, with a focus on Christmas, Halloween, and Easter!

During their art class, campers used oil pastels to create festive birds, sitting on a limb! The campers' creativity was quite amazing; no two projects turned out the same!

Staying cool was a challenge this week as temperatures soared to over 90 degrees some days! Plenty of drink breaks, Water Fun games, and running through the sprinkler helped campers cool off during the hot day!

Campers worked with Camp Staff on a community service project, the goal was the beautify the camp grounds. Mission accomplished! The new plants look great and are enjoying the rain.

Campers learned a little about tree identification and some of the more prominent native species in Ohio. Leaf and bark rubbings are two helpful methods used in tree ID.

During the Young Naturalist program, campers learned about Wilderness Survival and created their own shelter.

Rocks Rock! Campers created volcanoes with a twist, a Christmas Tree volcano!

On the instructional sports side of camp, campers explored "net game" like volleyball, badminton, and pickleball! They developed court

awareness, footwork, body positioning, and mechanics to improve their overall

gameplay.

One camper said "badminton was my favorite, because I have never played it before and it was fun!"

Campers in the instructional sports track practivied agility, which proved to be very difficult in wet ground. Improving their footwork helps them to move quicker on the field and in the game!

The highlight of the week was our Amazing Race: Holidays Around the World,

where campers teamed up to tackle various holiday-themed challenges.

Activities included crafting Mardi Gras masks, building paper rockets, making

Day of the Dead skeletons, wrapping teammates like mummies in a toilet paper

challenge, and participating in an Easter egg hunt and Christmas tree decorating

relay! The air was filled with music, laughter, and excitement!

Camp is beautiful, even on a rainy day!

Camp will be closed next week, in observation of the July 4th holiday. We wish you all happy celebrations and we'll see you back at camp the week of July 7th!
