We DARE you to...

Run Faster, Jump Higher and be Stronger!

Country Life Kids Camp has an exciting athletic program for our campers to learn life lessons along with improving their physical capabilities.  We have invited some of the area's finest high school coaches,  collegiate athletes and former college coaches to share their time, experience and wisdom this summer season.  These coaches specialize in basketball, soccer, cross country, track & field, golf, rugby, martial arts as well as personal fitness training.

We are inviting devoted athletes of all skill levels, to participate in our athletic performance training camps. You will not only improve your physical skills, but we will challenge your athlete's mental toughness through coaching character lectures, team building obstacles and agility training.  You will learn what it takes to be a complete "coach-able athlete" on every level, from a starter to the 6th man off the bench, so you can reach your goals.

Take a look at some of the coaches already committed as a guest coach this season and check back for an update to this list in the near future.

Brian Scerca
Boys Rugby Coach
USA Rugby Level 300 certified coach   Medina High School

Brian Scerca is a graduate of Medina High School where he competed in Football, Wrestling and Track and Field.  He continued his athletic and academic career at Bowling Green State University where he played collegiate rugby winning multiple MAC and Michigan Rugby Union Championships.  He has spent time coaching youth flag and tackle football in the Medina City leagues.  In 2013 he returned to coaching rugby at Medina High School.  He is also a USA rugby level 1 official and a current member of the Rugby Ohio Board of Commissioners. When not spending time with his family and coaching HS rugby, he volunteers to teach rugby in Phys Ed at both Medina City Schools and Buckeye Local Schools.

My goals for teaching rugby at Country Life Kids Camp is to introduce young people to a sport that is played world wide and is rapidly growing in the United States to hopefully provide them with opportunities in their future to compete, build friendships and to experience how teamwork  and communication leads to success.

About Medina Rugby
The Medina Rugby Football Club was established in 2011 at Medina High School as a club sport.  In their first season the boys team consisted of 14 brave young men, who although had to forfeit all of their games for not having enough players, showed up every week and never gave up.  Today we carry that fighting spirit with us as the program has grown to consist of over 150 players. These players make up teams for High-School Boys, High-School Girls, Middle School Boys, Middle School Girls, 5-6 grade co-ed flag and 1-4 grade co-ed flag.  The HS Boys team has made multiple D2 state playoff appearances and had multiple college scholarship and All Ohio award winners, as well as an All American.  The HS Girls team is entering its third season since its inauguration and is the two-time Rugby Ohio D2 state runner up.  Both the Middle School Boys and Middle School Girls teams placed second in the 2017 Rugby Ohio Middle School State tournament, held in Canton, OH.  Please visit our website at https://medinarugby.wordpress.com/ or email us at medinarugby@gmail.com to find out more about how to become part of Medina Rugby RFC!

“My happiest moment happened when I was 18.  I was blessed with wonderful parents that allowed me to go to Uzbekistan for a mission trip with our church.  A few doctors and our pastor set up a makeshift pharmacy for people in dire need of medical attention there.  I remember running around town, back and forth between doctors and handing prescriptions to our pharmacists, but the line of people was endless.  There were children there and my pastor asked me to gather all the children onto a large field and teach them martial arts.  I didn’t speak Uzbek, I didn’t speak Russian, they didn’t speak Korean, they didn’t speak English.  I gathered hundreds of kids onto a dusty field and I remember an incredible amount of pure joy as we started to warm up.  The entire experience gave me a much deeper understanding of what it means to truly appreciate something.  I believe teaching martial arts is what I was born to do.”
