What an unforgettable second week at Country Life Kids Camp. Our campers stepped boldly into The Game of Survival, a high‑energy adventure that challenged their minds, strengthened their bodies, and inspired their hearts. From physical challenges to STEAM exploration to character‑building lessons, this week was packed with discovery, teamwork, and joy.

🌍 Survival Skills & Adaptation

Campers kicked off the week by exploring what people and animals need to thrive in environments all around the world. Through hands‑on activities, games, and guided discussions, they learned how living things adapt, survive, and work with the world around them. They also dove into renewable energy — hydro and wind — discovering how these powerful forces help communities stay strong in tough climates.

💪 U.S. Army Survival Challenge

One of the most exciting highlights was our special visit from local U.S. Army. Campers learned how to stay healthy, active, and safe while tackling a series of thrilling physical challenges on our Obstacle Course and Trail Run.

  • Rope climbing

  • Balance beam walking

  • Rock‑wall scaling

  • Cargo net descending

  • Tunnel crawling

  • Tire running

  • Low crawing

  • Trail running

The day wrapped up with a medal ceremony, celebrating courage, effort, and personal achievement. Every camper shined.

🏅 We have 2 Fitness Tracks at CLKC - Week 2 Selection: Dynamic Athlete or Cooperative Games

This week, campers selected their physical activity track — Instructional Sports: Dynamic Athlete or Cooperative Games — and both groups had a blast.

Dynamic Athletes:

  • Pickleball

  • Rugby

  • Ultimate frisbee

  • Skill‑building in hand‑eye coordination, balance, endurance, explosiveness, communication, and agility

Cooperative Games:

  • Team‑based challenges

  • Problem‑solving activities

  • Fast‑paced, laughter‑filled group games

🧗 Obstacle Course Adventures

Throughout the week, campers pushed their limits on a variety of obstacle courses designed to help them run faster, jump higher, and build strength. It was incredible to watch their confidence grow as they tried new obstacles and discovered what they could achieve with determination and encouragement.

CORE Pillar Program Highlights

Coaching Character

Campers explored what it means to take action. Through movement‑based games like Simon Says and Marco Polo, they learned that a command without action is incomplete — and that God can move us exactly where we need to be.

Young Naturalist

Campers stepped into the role of wildlife biologists during the Predator vs. Prey Challenge. They investigated the food web in our vernal pool, observed natural colonization on camp property, and learned how every creature plays a role in the ecosystem.

Mystery Lab (STEM)

How many people does it take to turn on a lightbulb? Campers experimented with renewable energy technologies, testing wind and hydropower to understand how energy is captured and used around the world.

Young Engineers (STEM)

Campers explored Earth’s magnetic fields and learned why the compass remains one of the most important tools for navigation and survival. They even constructed their own compasses and experimented with magnetic poles.

Art & Design

Creativity soared as campers created abstract art using recycled materials. They built cardboard relief sculptures — a perfect blend of imagination and sustainability.

Week 3 will be a race to space and we can’t wait!
